George Ellzey Jr. is an Emmy-nominated, two-time Telly Award-winning director and writer based in Chicago, creating emotionally resonant, socially conscious stories that amplify underrepresented voices. His narrative and experimental films have streamed on AMC+, KweliTV, NBC5, and VTV and screened at festivals including Black Harvest, Athens International, Tallgrass, and XL Fest.

George holds an MFA in Directing from DePaul University and a BA from Bowdoin College. He is currently developing two feature projects: Shades, a microbudget ensemble drama and finalist for the 2025 TDE Short Film Grant, and Closed Mouths, exploring emotional repression and friendship.

With experience as a festival juror and creative consultant, George brings a director’s vision grounded in empathy and social relevance to narrative directing, branded content, and consulting, delivering stories that connect audiences across cultures and communities.
